Equipment

  • Pot and heat-proof whisk (only if you want the foamy latte topping) Substitute: Blender

Ingredients

  • 1 shot espresso Substitute: 1 Tablespoon of instant coffee powder dissolved in ½ Cup of hot water
  • 2 heaping Tablespoons Nutella spread Stir before scooping. Substitute: any chocolate hazelnut spread.
  • ¾ Cup Whole Milk Substitute: any milk of choice e.g. cashew milk, hazelnut milk, oat milk, soy milk etc

Instructions

  • If using instant coffee, dissolve the instant coffee powder in the hot water. Skip this step if using espresso.
  • Stir the nutella, then scoop 2 tablespoons into the hot coffee/ espresso. Stir well to dissolve- you'll have some chocolate spread left on the spoon. Feel free to lick it off! (Make sure not to contaminate your Nutella jar with coffee or saliva!)
  • Gently heat milk on the stove till steaming. Once the milk is steaming (don't let it boil), switch off the fire and whisk till frothy (about 30 seconds.)
  • Pour the foamy milk into your nutella coffee. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra decadent drink: spread some nutella mixed with brown sugar and cocoa powder around the rim of your cup then spray whipped cream on top. The contrast between the hot chocolate coffee and the cold cream is simply scrumptious!
  • For a more chocolatey Nutella Latte: use more of the chocolate hazelnut spread or add a few chocolate fevres into your hot drink!
Make it in 1-step with a blender
You can skip the whisking and make Nutella Latte in 1-step by blending all the ingredients for 30 seconds to make a smooth and frothy drink (but note that your foam will be brown not white.)
