Facebook Groups for Food Bloggers were one of the most helpful resources for making Mediavine! Now that Google has been on a months-long rampage, here are more FB groups to check out!
Jump to:
I wouldn't have made it to Mediavine, and to becoming a full-time blogger, without the help of Facebook groups, so I've compiled a long list of FB groups for food bloggers. Hopefully, you'll have some that are new and useful to you!
Connecting Bloggers
Since this is my post, I'm going to give my own Facebook Group Connecting Bloggers a little shout out here ๐
- In the group, I post links to Zoom calls for bloggers (free to join but some members asked me to launch a more regular paid membership last year. Not gotten round to it yet- we'll see! Even if I launch a paid one, the free calls will continue, so don't worry!)
- During the calls, we discuss stuff like Other traffic Sources besides Google, Google updates, Pinterest, Newsletters, and more. (It's not limited to just food bloggers, so is a good way to get cross-industry tips.)
Note: Since this is a free initiative, the calls are held when I have availability, and not regularly!
Food-Specific
These Facebook groups only accept people with recipe blogs!
Food Bloggers Central
This was the first FB blogging group that I found and the most useful. You need a food blog up and running to join. Click here: Food Bloggers Central.
Food Bloggers Tribe
Food Bloggers Tribe is a group for social sharing (i.e. to get reviews, comments, Pinterest shares etc. In exchange, you have to do the same for the other bloggers!)
General
These are Facebook groups open to ALL bloggers, not just ones that write recipes.
ChatGPT for Food and Travel Bloggers
ChatGPT for food and travel bloggers is another of my FB groups.
AI is here to stay and I think us bloggers need to learn how to use it effectively, in order to succeed. I've joined a few ChatGPT groups to learn more, but the comments are filled with SPAM and unhelpful information, so I'm trying to start one in which bloggers actually share (or ask) useful AI-blogging questions!
For example, in my last post, I shared what I thought of FirstDraftAI. (I signed up for 2 months.)
Boss Girl Bloggers
Boss Girl Bloggers โจ is quite a helpful group that I like to check in on now and then. You'll almost always get an answer to your question here.
Blog it Better
The Blog It Better Society - Blogging Tips & Support is quite organized. It has:
Daily Threads:
- Monday: Goal Setting
- Tuesday: Blog Post Share
- Wednesday: Blog Comments
- Thursday: Pinterest
- Friday: Alternating weeks with follows & engagement for Instagram / Facebook
- Saturday: Request Anything
- Sunday: Self Promo
Ongoing throughout the month:
- Collaboration Opportunities
- Celebrating Wins
Female Lifestyle and Travel
Female Lifestyle and Travel Bloggers - still waiting to join so no update yet but lifestyle groups typically include food posts. It's quite a small group though, only about 2000 members.
Bloggers PH
Bloggers PH has Like+Comments threads for TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and other socials.
Bloggers Supporting Bloggers
Bloggers Supporting Bloggers is another group for social sharing. You can ask for favors or share YouTube videos etc. It's not quite as effective since it's less focused but it is good for getting your socials out to a new audience.
(If you do only the food groups, you'll see the same bloggers in most of them.)
Smart Blogging
The Smart Blogging Approach is a group hosted by the blogger Ana. You can ask question and share blog posts on specific days.
Influential Bloggers
Influential Bloggers - I'm not sure what this is about as still waiting to join!
The Helpful Blog
The Helpful Blog & Business Group- you get a daily blogging request thread.
AI
ChatGPT & OpenAI
ChatGPT & OpenAI is not quite as spammy as some of the other groups, but I do find a lot of posts-with-no-purpose in it. (Example, posts that just go Hi.) Nonethless, there are a few legitimate questions asked and answered.
For New Bloggers
Here are 3 Facebook groups just for newbies!
Blogging Tips & Advice For New Bloggers - some of your questions are answers, some will not be, but I've not seen any spam in this group.
Blogging for New Bloggers with Lucrezia and Marina- this is mainly about learning socials, but some bloggers do drop their posts in it too. (Don't expect traction if you do that.)
New Bloggers Network - not yet approved, so no information on this!
Social Media & Podcasts
Social Ninjas
un by the former moderators of the Instagram Fabulous engagement groups (etc) You have to follow all the mods to join
Click here for the Facebook group link
Growing Social Media
In Growing Social Media for Bloggers, every thread requires a DONE. 3 strikes and you're out, No self promos.
Here's the Facebook group link.
TikTok for Bloggers
TikTok for Bloggers: How to grow your Account & Email List only has 95 members at the moment, so although there are "AMA" and "monthly feedback threads, no one is using them at the moment. (More attention on you if you drop your links, I guess!)
Bloggers Supporting
Bloggers Supporting Each Other has 26k members, and you can drop all your blogging questions in the group.
Link Building
Link Building for Newbie Bloggers (with low DA) - for collaborative posts and link swaps. (As per Google, we're not supposed to link swap but.... I know a lot of people are throwing the rulebook out the window!)
Podcast Guest Collaboration Community
Podcasts are a good way of building your DA. You can find the Facebook link here.
Web Stories
Pinterest, Google Web Stories & Digital Marketing with Allison Lancaster- Allison runs a Pinterest and web stories agency, and also sells courses. She is super nice!
I took her Jumpstart your Pinterest Course- click through for the review- but have to honestly say it's not for everyone.
Web Stories for Bloggers - still waiting to be approved to this 389 member group!
Google Web Stories For Blogging- as above, with this 524 member group.
Affiliate Income
Passive Income Superstars - community for bloggers & online business owners - now that Google is mad, we all want to learn more about affiliate income.
Personally, I found Thirsty Affiliates VERY useful (it helped me make Amazon after like 3 years?) But for general affiliate marketing knowledge, the Passive Income Superstars FREE newsletter is also good. It taught me as much as a course from an "I make over 250k in affiliate income" blogger (PAID)!
(I bought the affiliate course because another blogger recommended it- she has an affiliate programme- but........ it wasn't that good.)
Destination-Specific
Honestly, if you're not from the US, you may have specific blogging isssues. For example, how do you get brand sponsorships? How do you increase RPMs?
Which is why it's helpful to network with other bloggers from your region! Here are some groups that are region-specific.
UK & Europe
Update: Next UK Bloggers meeting will be May 2024. (Last one was in January 2024.) If I hold a blogging conference in UK- sorry, it will be ticketed, not free :P- would you be itnerested in going? Let me know in the comments!
Canada & US
Asia
Mediavine Bloggers (Southeast Asia) - still a small group. May open it to Raptive bloggers too to increase the group size!
Sg Bloggers - sad to say, there is almost NO engagement on all the posts in this group but... maybe it will change one day. (Mainly people dropping their blog links.)
Singapore Social Media Blogger + Influencer - as above, you see the same bloggers in both groups actually.
Requirement to Join
For these groups, there's a requirement to join.
Mediavine Publisher Group- obviously, you have to be part of Mediavine!
WP Recipe Maker Food Bloggers - you must be using their WPRM plugin. (I use it on my blog. Much recommended. For other blogging tools you need, click here.)
Foodie Pro Bloggers - you need to be using Feast theme. I use it and am happy with it (click here for the blog theme review), but it's not for everyone.
Blogging on WordPress - for peopel who have hired iMark Interactive. I don't use the group much but it is handy for asking Grayson Bell questions. (And I HIGHLY recommend his services, if you can afford it! Helps me sleep better and not worry about blog security etc.)
RankIQ Mastermind Group - for people who use RankIQ. I've been using it for over a year now and LOVE it. Click here for my RankIQ review for food bloggers.
Cooking With Keywords - you get to join the group if you take the CwK course.
Beyond Pinteresting Mastermind with Carly Campbell- this is for members of the Mastermind, unlike Allison's group which is open to the public. As mentioned in my Jumpstart Your Pinterest review, I really wish we could have a private FB group like this!
Recipe Sharing
These groups are for you to share your recipes in hopes of getting clicks to your site. I find the FB groups that work best are niche-specific. (E.g. Air Fryer Recipes FB group) I'm not listing all the recipe sharing FB groups for specific niches because then this list would NEVER end.
Recipe Love: Bloggers' Best! -This is a general group, so you don't get much engagement
Food Bloggers Best Recipes -again, limited engagement
Recipes and Photos for Bloggers
Uh....
These are the groups that are quite dodgy. (Listing them here so you don't waste time checking what they're about when you search Facebook. I waste a lot of time on that!)
Blogger community seems to be full of spam but apparently there's a new admin so we'll see
Global Bloggers and Influencers Sharing no engagement and people just seem to be sharing their own content
The World's Largest Global Blogger & Blogging Community as above
SEO Bloggers Pakistan as above
Bloggers Helping Bloggers (BHB) accidentally joined this as a friend was a member but also full of spam and no engagement
Bloggers mix of spam and people offering guest posts
Guest Blogger The last post was in 2014 so, safe to say, it's not very active.
Any questions about Facebook Groups for food bloggers? Or want to add your group to this list? Let me know in the comments!
