3 easy fall dishes with the words "fall soups & stews" in between.

Looking for cozy Asian fall soups and stews that are delicious but easy comfort foods to make? These warming Asian recipes go beyond healthy Japanese Miso Soup: from an Asian chicken rice soup, a spicy rice noodle soup, dumpling soup and hearty stews such as Filipino braised pork, hearty chicken stew and more. The perfect comfort foods for fall and winter. (Includes vegetarian + dairy free + Chinese chicken bone broth (fundamental for cooking soups & stews!))

3 easy fall dishes with the words "fall soups & stews" in between.

I love soups so much, I often have 2 different types of soup at the same meal! So obviously, I've tried a TON of different Asian soups. (Chinese people believe that chicken soup is good for your health, and that bone broth keeps you young.)

Scroll down for some of the best Asian soups for autumn!

    Chicken Stews

    Chicken Sambal

Close-up of chicken sambal with coconut sauce and kale.

You can make this with store bought sambal oelek but it's also very easy to make your own sambal chili with just 3 ingredients.

With a hint of spice but not too spicy, this chicken dish is great as a pot luck dish!

Chicken Sambal (One Pot, with Coconut)
This Chicken Sambal dish is simmered in coconut and made in one pot. It can be bulked up with lots of flavorful veggies, such as bell peppers, tomatoes and carrots! Best of all, it's on the table in under 30 minutes (if you use skinless, boneless chicken. You can make it with any cut of chicken, but the cooking time will change.)

    Filipino Chicken Stew

Boneless chicken adobo with rice and carrots.
    Filipino Chicken Adobo
This authentic Filipino Chicken Adobo recipe was shared with me by a Filipino chef whose family sells Adobo in the Philippines. It's an easy recipe- marinade optional- and perfect with white rice bowls. Traditionally, it's served with potatoes but I've substituted them for carrots to make the braised dish lower-carb.

    Chinese Chicken Wings

Coated in a thick savory and tangy sauce, this classic Filipino recipe is one of my favourites for family dinners. A bowl of rice is a MUST with this dish!

(This is another Asian dish that tastes better after re-heating- perfect for pot luck!)

    Pork Adobo
This easy Pork Adobo recipe is as tasty and authentic as it gets: a Filipino lady whose family sells this braised pork kindly shared it with me. It's one of the most delicious Filipino pork recipes and the best traditional Filipino dish in my opinion! Perfect for a Filipino food party.

Black chicken is a delicacy in Chinese cuisine and thought to be better for your health than regular chicken!

Black chickens are very small, so you don't get much soup out of just 1 chicken. It's the perfect chicken soup for 1 or 2- alternatively, use 2-3 chickens if you want to cook up a bigger batch.

Easy Chinese Black Chicken Soup (Silkie Chicken)
This easy Chinese Black Chicken Soup, also known as Silkie Chicken, is a traditional Chinese soup recipe that is delicious, nutritious AND only calls for 5 ingredients! This will sound corny but ABC Soup is as easy as ABC to make! A staple in most Chinese households, it's the ultimate affordable and nutritious comfort food that is perfect on a rainy day. (I have tested it with a bouillon cube, broth made with a whole chicken, pork ribs, pork bones etc.)

Hi I'm Zhen also known as GGG! I couldn't boil water till I was 18! However, I love creating community and nurturing people, so when I lived abroad (in St. Andrews then London) for 11 years, I started hosting regular parties for friends, and that's how I started cooking and helping out in professional kitchens. (Couldn't cook before that!) I even organised a supper club for charity (which strangers came to!) Learning to cook late, I make sure my recipes go into enough detail for those new to Asian cuisine or who love a test kitchen approach to cooking!
